Meet Paul, our friendly Technical Manager

Paul Tonkinson has worked at EPC for 31 years. He started off in our lacquer shop back in the days when we added a protective layer of lacquer over our nickel, copper and brass coatings. Things have moved on a great deal since then and so has Paul.

He went from the lacquer shop to the lab, and then worked his way up to be Lab Manager and then on to Technical manager.

Paul has great technical knowledge on all our finishes – zinc, zinc nickel, phosphate, Dorken, Magni and Atotech as well as being a very personable member of the team. This combination makes him a great asset for customer contact and for working through any quality or technical queries they may have.

Paul’s day to day duties include quality control and technical paperwork and reporting, customer contact and managing Richard and Darryl in the lab to oversee all product on all the lines. He has also just completed an internal auditing course to enable him to support EPC Quality Manager John.

A favourite in the office due to his kind nature, Paul lives locally with his wife and 3 sons.  Paul enjoys spending his time away from work camping and sightseeing and loves being down in Devon and Cornwall.
